Amazon describes an advanced refund triggered by a carrier’s first scan as one refund type. Do not assume every drop-off receives that treatment. Follow the return-by date and correct label; failure to return an item after an advance refund can cause another charge.
Amazon lists 2–3 hours for an issued gift-card refund. This is account balance, not a card-statement credit; it cannot be represented as a guaranteed zero-day bank refund.

Cancelling or returning

For a physical order, open Your Orders and inspect the order’s cancellation controls before it enters shipping. A request is not the same as confirmed cancellation.
If available, select View or change this order, Cancel items, choose the items and request cancellation. Check the confirmation email or Canceled Orders.
For an order sold and shipped by a third-party seller, cancellation after fulfillment begins needs the seller’s approval. If an order cannot be changed, use the applicable return or seller-contact route.
For Prime, use the separate Cancel Your Prime Membership page and follow its prompts. A third-party Prime enrollment may require that provider’s cancellation route.

Why did Amazon charge me twice for one order?

Amazon says an order can split into shipments with separate charges. A pending authorization also differs from a completed purchase. Compare posted entries with Your Transactions and the order’s shipment amounts before concluding there is a duplicate; unresolved posted charges still need investigation.

How long does an Amazon credit-card refund take?

No. Most items have a 30-day-from-delivery return window, with product exceptions. Your Order History shows item eligibility. This deadline differs from receiving and processing the return and from the financial institution’s later refund posting.

Can I cancel an Amazon order within a guaranteed 30 minutes?
