Why itch.io Appears on Your Credit Card
Unreviewed registry note: When you see ITCH.IO *INDIE GAMES on your financial statement, the transaction originates from Itch Corp, the operating company behind itch.io. This popular open digital marketplace allows independent game developers, artists, and creators to self-publish and sell indie video games, game development assets, digital comics, and tabletop roleplaying rulebooks directly to consumers.
Unreviewed registry note: This charge typically appears because you purchased an independent video game, contributed to a creator tip jar, or bought a curated developer bundle (such as charity game bundles) on the platform. Unlike traditional gaming stores, itch.io empowers individual creators to set their own pricing models, often including voluntary pay-what-you-want options above a minimum price.
