Separate a hold from a final fare
Uber’s US authorization explanation describes a temporary hold when a ride is requested and an adjustment to the final fare. If the final price is higher, the original authorization can be overridden or an additional amount can be charged. A destination change can produce two receipts in a described scenario. Compare both receipts before labelling two lines a duplicate.
Ask the issuer which entry is pending and which is posted. The inspected US explanation was published in 2022 and says bank policy affects when adjustments become visible; it does not establish a fixed release date for your card today. Do not assume that every unfamiliar entry will disappear merely because a second entry looks similar.

It also lists an updated fare, a tip and a cancellation fee as possibilities to check against history. These are inquiry leads, not a ranking of common causes or proof of another person’s activity.

Do two UBER entries prove I paid twice?
No. Uber’s US explanation describes holds, fare adjustments and a possible split into two receipts. Compare pending versus posted status with the receipts and ask about any unexplained posted amount; this page cannot determine whether a duplicate occurred.
Does an unfamiliar ride prove my Uber account was hacked?
No. Uber’s help includes possible use of payment information on another account. An unfamiliar entry cannot identify the cause by itself. Report possible unauthorized payment use promptly to the issuer while asking Uber to locate the billing record.
