The short answer
This charge is from Thinkific, a software platform that independent creators and educators use to build and sell online courses. You recently purchased a course or membership hosted on their infrastructure.
Understanding the Thinkific billing descriptor
Thinkific is the backend technology provider, not the actual creator of the course. When you buy a masterclass, coaching program, or digital download from an independent expert, the payment is processed through Thinkific's merchant gateway.
Because Thinkific powers thousands of different educational websites, the descriptor may not mention the specific creator you bought from. To identify the exact course, search your email inbox for receipts from 'Thinkific' or the course topic.
Why doesn't the creator's name appear on my statement?
If the creator uses Thinkific's native payment processor (Thinkific Payments) instead of their own custom Stripe account, the charge defaults to a generic Thinkific billing descriptor.
Can I get a refund for a Thinkific course?
Refund policies are determined entirely by the individual course creator, not by Thinkific. You must contact the instructor directly via the support email listed in your course welcome email.
How to cancel a recurring Thinkific subscription
While many Thinkific purchases are one-time payments, some creators offer recurring monthly memberships or payment plans. If you are being billed monthly, you must cancel the subscription from within your student dashboard.
Canceling a subscription will immediately revoke your access to the course material at the end of your current billing cycle. Thinkific support cannot cancel subscriptions on your behalf; you must go through the creator's portal.
- Log In Go to the specific course website where you purchased the content and log in.
- Account Settings Click on your profile avatar in the top right corner and select 'My Account'.
- Billing review to the 'Billing' tab to view and cancel active subscriptions.
