The short answer
STEAMGAMES.COM is most likely a purchase from Valve's Steam store. Steam Support's own FAQ addresses charges from "Valve Software, Steampowered.com, or Steam Games" and says they are for games, DLC, or in-game items or currency. The number after the name is not explained in the Steam pages we reviewed. Start by checking the purchase history of every Steam account in your household that could use this card.
What do the parts of STEAMGAMES.COM 4259522985 mean?
- STEAMGAMES.COM
- A web address in the line. Compare it with the company site on your receipt or account email before relying on it.
- 4259522985
- Formatted like a phone number. It is not verified as a contact number on this page; use the number on your card or the company's official site.
What Steam says these charges are
Steam Support's FAQ on unrecognized charges says any charges from Valve are for computer games, DLC (downloadable content), or in-game items or currency. It also says Valve has no recurring fees or monthly charges unless one is explicitly stated as part of an online game subscription. A single STEAMGAMES.COM line therefore usually points to a one-time store purchase, not an automatic membership.
The same FAQ recommends first asking other members of your household, or anyone who may have had access to the payment method, whether they made the purchase. If a household member bought something without your permission, Steam says you can still contact Steam Support for help.
- Open the purchase history Sign in on the Steam Help Site or in the Steam Client, click your account name at the top right, and choose Account Details > View purchase history.
- Compare the total with your statement If the purchase history total does not match the bank amount, Steam says to contact your payment provider. Some banks add processing fees, taxes or currency conversion charges that Steam does not control.

Reporting a charge you did not make
Steam's ticket flow for this is on the Help Site: sign in, choose Purchases, then "I have charges from Steam that I didn't make," then Contact Steam Support. People who do not have a Steam account can also file a ticket by choosing "I am not a Steam user" in the same section.
Steam asks for the name as it appears on your billing statement, the exact amount and date, the card type, the last four digits of the card, your email address and a contact phone number. For several charges, list each date and amount. For a PayPal charge, include the PayPal invoice ID. Steam warns that its support staff will never ask for your full card number, expiration date or CVV code.

Refunds versus bank chargebacks
Steam's refund policy lets you request a refund for a game within 14 days of purchase if it has been played for less than two hours. DLC follows a similar 14-day rule, in-game items in Valve-developed games have a 48-hour window, and unused Steam Wallet funds can be refunded within 14 days. Steam says approved refunds are issued within a week, either to the original payment method or as Steam Wallet funds.
Steam's chargeback FAQ explains that when a bank reverses a Steam payment, the accounts and purchases tied to that chargeback are restricted. The restriction is removed once the dispute is reversed with the bank and the funds return to Steam, which Steam says can take up to 60 days. That is a reason to understand which account made the purchase before you choose a route. If you believe the card itself was used without permission, report it to your card issuer promptly as well.
Does Steam bill a monthly fee?
Steam says Valve has no recurring fees or monthly charges unless a subscription is explicitly stated for an online game. Its refund page notes that active subscriptions can be cancelled in your account details.
What happens to my Steam account if I file a chargeback?
Steam says accounts and purchases associated with a chargeback are restricted until the dispute is reversed with the bank and the funds are returned to Steam.

Read Steam's unrecognized-charges FAQ, chargeback FAQ and refund policy. Removed the unsupported phone number and claim that it is Valve's Washington number, the boilerplate fraudRisk, the generic subscription cancelSteps and the invented 14 to 30 day refund window (replaced with Steam's documented windows). Replaced homepage-only sources and junk related slugs. The 4259522985 suffix and the WL *STEAM and STEAM PURCHASE variants remain undocumented.
