Resumen del cargo
ACK (ACH Payment Acknowledgment). ACK stands for ACH Payment Acknowledgment, the Nacha Standard Entry Class code that identifies a non-monetary entry a receiving bank sends to confirm it accepted a corporate credit payment in the CCD format. No funds move with this code — it is a receipt notice between financial institutions, not a charge a consumer can receive.
Importante: Qué NO es este código
This code is not a merchant, a fee, or a payment you owe. It is a bank-to-bank receipt notice tied to a Corporate Credit or Debit (CCD) entry. It cannot be a debit to a consumer account, and it is not something a biller, subscription service, or retailer uses to charge you.
Significado de ACK
The Acknowledgment entry is the return leg of a Corporate Credit or Debit (CCD) payment. When an originating bank sends a CCD credit, the receiving depository financial institution can transmit an Acknowledgment back to confirm the entry was accepted. Nacha's 2025 rule proposal defines this code expressly as a non-monetary entry initiated by the receiving institution to acknowledge receipt of a CCD-format corporate credit payment.
Because no money moves on the Acknowledgment itself, the entry carries no dollar amount of its own. The value it acknowledges belongs to the underlying corporate credit — typically a payroll funding transfer, a vendor payment, or a cash-concentration move between two business accounts. The acknowledgment is evidence the payment landed, not an additional payment.
This code is nearly invisible to consumers. It travels in the back-and-forth between an originating depository financial institution and a receiving one, and banks do not surface it as a merchant-descriptor line the way they surface PPD or WEB purchases. A personal checking statement that shows a payroll deposit is showing the original CCD credit — the acknowledgment that confirmed it is a separate, internal record.
The Federal Reserve's ACH software vendor guidance treats acknowledgment generation as an optional software capability alongside other SEC code support, which confirms the code's role is operational plumbing at the institution level rather than a line item meant for account holders.
If you ever do see Acknowledgment entries while reviewing ACH files — for example when reconciling business accounts or auditing payroll processing — read them as receipts, not transactions. Match them to the originating corporate credit by amount, company name, and posting date. A single CCD batch can generate an acknowledgment for every receiving bank it touches, so file reports may show several of these entries where only one funding transfer occurred. When in doubt, treat the acknowledgment as confirmation the credit cleared, and investigate any CCD credit that has no matching receipt on the other side.
Cómo localizar al comercio real
- Paso 1 No merchant is attached to the entry itself — the originating company name rides in the Company Name and Company Entry Description fields of the underlying CCD batch, not in the acknowledgment.
- Paso 2 If you need the originator, ask your bank for the Company Name and Company Entry Description from the CCD batch the journal entry acknowledges; the dollar amount and posting date will match the original corporate credit.
- Paso 3 Confirm the original entry was a payroll funding or vendor payment posted to a business account — that is the CCD rail, which is what this acknowledgment confirms receipt of.
- Paso 4 On a personal checking statement, the visible line will be the CCD credit itself (for example a payroll deposit), so look for the credit entry, not its internal receipt.
