Resumen del cargo
This is a charge for an Airbnb booking, Experience, or damage claim.
What is the Airbnb charge?
This charge is from Airbnb, the online marketplace for short-term homestays and experiences. It represents a booking payment, a service fee, or an authorization hold for a security deposit.
Security Deposits and Holds
For some bookings, Airbnb places an authorization hold on your payment method 48 hours before check-in to cover potential damages. This hold is not a finalized charge.
If no property damage occurs, Airbnb releases the hold 14 days after checkout, or before the next guest checks in. It can take up to 7 business days for your bank to process the release.
Split Payments
If you selected a 'Pay Part Now, Part Later' plan during checkout, Airbnb will automatically charge the remaining balance to your card on file on the scheduled date.
Why was I charged a resolution center fee?
If a host claims you damaged their property or broke house rules, they can request money through the Resolution Center. If you don't respond, or if Airbnb sides with the host, they will charge your card on file.
When does the Airbnb security deposit drop off?
The hold is officially released by Airbnb up to 14 days after checkout. Depending on your bank's processing times, it may take an additional 3-7 days for the funds to reappear in your available balance.
Dispute Rights & Fraud Prevention
If you suspect this charge is fraudulent or billing in error, you have strict federal rights protecting your account.
Always review your statement carefully and take action within 60 days.
What should I do if I don't recognize this charge?
First, check with family members or anyone authorized on your account. If the charge remains unrecognized, contact your bank immediately to report it. Under the Fair Credit Billing Act (FCBA), you have 60 days from the statement date to dispute unauthorized credit card charges.
How long does it take for a disputed charge to be removed?
Once you file a dispute, your bank must acknowledge it within 30 days and resolve it within two billing cycles (not exceeding 90 days). During this time, the disputed amount is usually placed on a provisional hold, meaning you do not have to pay it.
